OUR STORY
In June 2024, our founder, Alan Cruz, faced a life-altering moment: while hiking in Pittsburgh, he unexpectedly lost half the vision in his left eye.
Surgeries and weeks of recovery forced him to reflect on one urgent question: “If life isn’t promised, how do I want to show up for my community?”
As an Indigenous Zapotec Mexican born in the U.S., Alan took deep pride in his roots. But stepping into the entrepreneurial world, he saw a stark truth: too often, Latine founders are overlooked, underfunded, and unrepresented in spaces that rarely honor our culture. He decided it was time to change that narrative.
That’s why he created Poderoso Media—a platform where culture is our superpower, authenticity is non-negotiable, and Latine entrepreneurs aren’t just welcomed but celebrated.
